Confirmed Line Ups

Written by Mean Lean Sunday, 04 October 2015 14:04

Well this article is kinda redundant isn't it? It didn't take a rocket scientist to work out what our line up would be this afternoon. Petr Cech is restored to the line up with Aaron Ramsey replacing Oxlade-Chamberlain on the right. In form Nacho Monreal also returns at left back in place of Kieran Gibbs.

Per Mertesacker and Aaron Ramsey who played in our last two games have been rested and in come Gabriel and Alex Oxlade-chamberlain. Kieran Gibbs has also come in to replace Nacho Monreal at left back so it will be interesting to see if Gibbs has a more withdrawn role today or if he will push on as he usual tries to do. As expected David Ospina has come in for Petr Cech.

As expected Arsene has selected the same team that defeated Stoke City last weekend. Hector Bellerin and Aaron Ramsey missed the midweek defeat in the CL but have been restored to the line up in place of Mathieu Debuchy and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It looks to be a ding dong battle in midfield so it is great to see both Aaron and Francis Coquelin back in the side. It should be an interesting match, let us hope we can  take the points this time.

Arsène Wenger has shuffled his pack a little bit as the Gunners prepare to face a Dinamo Zagreb in hot form, with the Chelsea game looming around the corner, Arsène has been forced into making a few changes to the team that dismantled Stoke City on the weekend. Arsène Wenger had already shown his intentions before the game by leaving Hector Bellerin and Aaron Ramsey at home.

Arsene Wenger has kept faith with Theo Walcott in the Arsenal attack, I thought Oliver Giroud would come back into the centre forward role but Theo has a chance again to prove he is up to the job. Another player shown faith is Gabriel who continues his partnership alongside Laurent Koscielny. It looks as if Aaron Ramsey will be allowed that free role from the right with Alexis doing his stuff from the left

Well there is a turn up for the books, Arsene has rotated the squad in search of goals, albeit some of it somewhat forced. Mesut Özil still has not set foot on the St James' Park pitch as he misses the match due to a minor (We hope) knee injury. Laurent Koscielny returns to the team to replace Calum Chambers at centre back but it is the forward line that has had the most amount of change. Özil's injury has allowed room for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to start while Theo Walcott replaces Oliver Giroud which I find a little surprising given the Frenchman's good record at Newcastle

There I was confidently predicting an unchanged line up in the early hours of this morning only to be hit with the news that we will be without our two central defenders this evening. Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny have a slight injury and illness respectively. Calum Chambers and Gabriel come into the team for their first minutes of the season.
