The answer is yes.
You only have to look at our captain Thierry Henry to see that. He could join any club in the world for the last 5 years, but he plays at Arsenal. Look at Pires, buying an apartment at Highbury because he loves the club. Over the years we've had quite a few, and we're luckier than most.
Many players have played for the club they support without question.
Hate to say it but Gary Neville is at Utd, never wanted to leave and doesn't even have an agent, just does his own deals and his future stays at Utd.
Alan Shearer at his peak turned down United to go to Newcastle. Won fuck all, do you think he regrets it, I doubt it. What more could a true fan want than to play in front of his peers in a packed stadium, his name being chanted. Good players are forgotten legends never die.
Steven Gerrard deserves to be the highest paid player in the world, as without him for the last 2 seasons Liverpool could be out of the big 4, and definitely wouldn't have won the CL.
So what the fuck is happening to these supposed fans? If you're a fan then act like one otherwise shut up.
This leads me to my rant, how many footballers can you name that leave their boyhood team for the dark side. I can except that some players leave for the clubs financial reasons, and some because of relegation, although I may not agree with their choice.
Sol Campbell, spurs through and through, joins Arsenal on a free, yes I loved it but he’s still a turncoat.
Ashley Cole, won’t waste my words.
Wayne Rooney, didn't even give a good season to the fans before leaving. Everton with him in their side now could not only attract better players but could push the top 4. He would have been a legend before he was 25!
Alan Smith, even if you are relegated and the club need the money, never do you join the enemy.
Chimbonda, shut up your shit, you're not an Arsenal fan, you play for spurs.
And finally, although there’s a wealth of traitors out there-and please post more to the article-Gareth Bale.
Never played for Arsenal, we were never going to sign him either, but if you claim to be a fan you do not join the enemy under any circumstances.
I have always dreamt of playing pro football, I played since I was 5 and it is my passion, I would never play for Spurs. If someone said that the only possibility of me playing pro football was at Shite Heart Lane then I would give up that dream and be happy watching beautiful football at the Emirates. That is what it means to be a fan a word used too often without meaning. That goes for every ‘fan’ that celebrated the unbeaten season, and who nobody has seen since, we all know one.
Just a short passage from an Arsenal Fan
