The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

With all that has happened in June, it just wouldn’t be the Arsenal way, without a good dose of controversy. After the departure of Henry, many coaches and players are writing us off from the get-go even though the season hasn’t even started yet.

Of course we might have not dipped in the transfer market, as I am sure most of us would have liked, missed out on some good names but Wenger, most of the times does things, with a purpose and would rather unearth a gem, snap up a quick bargain than splashing multi- million Pounds on a single player. Wenger has been quick to state that Eduardo is a completely different type of striker to Henry, watching various clips and footage of Eduardo Da Silva, I don’t want to speak to early but he does seem more of a goalpoacher, something that we have been lacking since the Wrighty years. How many times have we squandered, in last season alone, chances in the box?

After watching the friendly against that Turkish side (something Gibberish), the post Henry era, our boys seem to play way more freely, really mixing things up, when they get the chance, they’ll have a pop from 20 yards, then switching to their "Total Football" and ofcourse throwing in the odd "route 1" ball.
I’m sure most of you guys/gals, got frustrated with our play at times last season, with the goal beckoning and Arsenal always trying to score the perfect goal...again...the perfect goal won’t win you trophies, you need to score them ugly as well, just ask the deflection king, Frank Lampard.

A big season also awaits, amongst others, Niklas Bendtner, after his loan spell at Birmingham City, he automatically slots into Aliadiere’s old role, lets just hope he does a better job than Jeremie. Competition for places will be tough and the tall Dane will really have his work cut out for him this season, if he wants to make the grade at the Club. Theo Walcott, will give us the zip, we had with Thierry, surely they youngsters pace (not forgetting positional play) is also going to be a big factor in the coming season.

Furthermore, Arsenal seem to have a real good pre-season fixture list, with no real walkover matches. Playing the likes of PSG, Inter Milan, Lazio and Ajax, should give us a strenuous workout and bode us well for the new season which we will have to start, hopefully minus those irritating draws at the Emirates. Though, also a memo should be sent out to opposition managers (*cough* David Moyes & co.), to play some entertaining football and leave their 10-0-0 formation at home.

Was quite shocked to see some Arsenal blogs/sites wanting a Nico Anelka, return...? Why???? This guy and his brothers caused, Wenger and the board numerous headaches, so why have a Problem Child return? He never has lost that sulk, seems a French thing and he has gone to show he is nothing more than a footie mercenary, hopping from club, to club........ to club. For someone who was signed for Arsenal in 1997, he has been at Real Madrid, PSG, Liverpool, Manchester City, Fernabahce and then Bolton, so he should continue his club hopping....just not to the Emirates!

Finally, to Mean Lean, hats off to the new-look site, looks awesome on the eye.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
