Eduardo De Silva got the all clear from the home office to earn his trade in England with Arsenal football club and he was handed a start in the Amsterdam Tournament in a bid to get him fit for his new club.

Eduardo partnered Nicklas Bendtner upfront in which was pretty much a second team apart from Fabregas and Clichy.

This was pretty much the first time that Arsenal supporters got a good long look at the Brazilian born Croatian International. And he did not disappoint. From his goalscoring record I assumed that he would be a box player who plays only for goals.

This is quite clearly not the case as Eduardo was very effective in his link up play and combined very well with Bendtner and the midfield players.

Eduardo seems to have a picture in his head about the pitch and where players are. Several times during the game balls were played into his feet around the box at pace and he layed it off first time to a team mate.

Eduardo does not need to adapt, I think he is ready. He fits into this Arsenal team like a missing jigsaw puzzle. Look at the difference between Julio Baptista when he first played a match for Arsenal and Eduardo. The difference is huge, its massive.

Eduardo has terrific workrate, he tracked back and chased down defenders for the full 90 minutes. Something that Henry would only do if he made the error.

Arsene said that Eduardo can play wide. I'm not so sure that he would be as effective in a wide area. He would be half the player that he is.
Eduardo currently starts off centrally and darts into channels and will be found more and more often the more he plays with his colleagues.

The 2-1 victory over Lazio also showed me that Eboue is ahead of Walcott at the moment. Theo finds it difficult to go passed defenders unless its hit and run. As I have said previously he has the tools to be a super player but he needs to learn the rest of the game.

The match also told me that Tomas Rosicky is behind Alex Hleb in terms of match sharpness right now. Will Rosicky start in Arsene's 'strongest team' against Ajax on Saturday. That match will tell us alot about Fulham at the start of the season.
