We have a squad good enough to win, we just have to hope that they can do themselves justice on the day.

Right, these negative vibes and thoughts must stop now.
As Kobe Bryant once said, ‘if you don’t believe in yourself, then no one else will’
Sunday is a day where this current Arsenal team can show the world what they can do. Sunday is a day where this current Arsenal team need to stand up and be counted.
Yes, we lost to West Brom at home which was a massive shock. I certainly was very hurt by the defeat and couldn’t get myself to speak for a few hours after the final whistle. The tube journey home was certainly quieter then many previous journeys too. However, I will always give credit where it’s due and West Brom deserved their win. They passed the ball along the floor, did not resort to long balls and were quite simply superb in my opinion. Fair play to them, they can be very proud of their win.
I do believe last Saturday was just a blip and we responded well mid-week away in the Champions league. Sunday will be the real test. We have been saying that this team needs to win something and after Sunday we will know more if this season is going to be the one. Going to the Bridge without Vermaelen, Walcott and Van Persie is not ideal and having big doubts over Fabregas also clearly does not help but I feel this squad is full of quality. A potential midfield of Arshavin, Nasri, Song, Wilshere and Rosicky are more than capable of running a game against anyone in the world. Eboue may even get a look in on the right of midfield to help protect Sagna when Ashley Cole is attacking. Even without Cesc, the options are still their in midfield and with Denilson and perhaps Diaby (who is likely to make the squad), Mr Wenger has a few decisions to make.
You take Terry, Lampard and Drogba out of Chelsea and they would struggle too. We saw how Manchester United leaked a few goals without Ferdinand and this shows that any club would struggle without their best players. Arsenal however, seem to be more used to it then others and therefore can cope. We seem to play quite a few games without Robin Van Persie, which is a real shame as I really believe he can be one of the best strikers in the world if he got to play consistently. Playing without Cesc Fabregas is also a massive blow as we sometimes do lose a bit of a spark, however, the form Samir Nasri and Jack Wilshere have shown that we can perhaps cope.
We as fans have a responsibility, and that responsibility is to believe in our team and believe we can win. When our backs have been up against a wall, we have answered. To beat Chelsea seems to mean we must stop Drogba. We don’t seem to beat Chelsea with Drogba in their team and the last two times we have beaten them, Drogba did not play. Last season, we were slightly unlucky because we conceded a goal early then lost another on the break but then had the ball for what seemed like three days! We also had Andrey Arshavin up top on his own where as, this year we will have Chamakh who will hold the ball up and bring others into play leaving Arshavin and co to play their natural game. When you go away from home, it’s vital you have a front man that can put himself about a bit and hold the ball up along with bringing others into play and in Chamakh we do have that.
I do believe we can get a positive result at Chelsea. A draw would not be the worst result but a win would be better. We must avoid defeat if we have title ambitions but then again, if the Premiership is anything like last year, then you’re never quite out of it.
Let’s get behind the team, Come on you Arsenal!

I think if we keep the ball we can atleast get a draw because of the form Arsh,Nasri,Jack and Chamakh are,but I do have a small fear since Fabianski is playing,Hopefully he doesn't melt like Senderos when facing Drogba.

I hope we do ourselves justice too. We CAN win and have to beleive it. We are not odds on to win however we know we can beat anyone on our given day.

Agree with your belief Akhil. Nice to hear positive vibes, especially after last week's defeat.
I don't happen to believe we would be out of it if we lose. We'd be making life hard and we'd be outsiders. Anyone who thinks we are OUT of it is naive and wrong because how can you say seven points is an unrecoverable deficit after just 7 games? We have 31 to go, and I wouldn't be backing us to win it anymore really but we still would be in the race. It would be melodramatic and stupid to think so, these people in newspapers/ media and TV (skysports especially) will say things like that among the "bullied" rubbish just to be melodramatic and controversial because its part of their job so please people, don't just copy their opinions.
Come on the Arsenal!
1-0 I think. Nasri 1st half.

The Class of 2003-2004 Arsenal team will forever be one of the fondest memories in my heart like most gooners. But i need to STOP comparing the members of the current team with them right now.
Every Arsenal team post 2005 has been compared with the Invincibles, but no one factors in the other 19 teams in the BPL that played in that era against them with the 19 we have now[ Financially doped Chelsea,Man City were non-existent]. If we calculate the points earned during 2000-2005 in Champions League VS points earned by the current team since 2005 , we will see how playing in a Stadium like Emirates versus a compact Stadium like highbury becomes a factor for the team in the CL.
The point is times are different , factors to consider about opponents are different. But through the last 5 years step by step this new team has been built, gaps and holes have been plugged.
The playing 11 didnt have enough experience , now they have,
No aerial threat , we have added in Chamakh , Kocielny and Schilacci ,
No ability to play physical , well we already have 2 red cards [Wenger should soon start his , i didnt see the tackle lines ,like before ].
We didnt have a squad of Top Talent , we have now [ No Cesc,RVP,Bendtner,Vermalean who won us so many crunch games last season, we are still are good ].
All we need , is the players themselves to start believing from the Inside that they are not only good individual players , but they actually are a good World Class Squad ...and can win Trophies like other World Class Teams.......
And that starts with a Surprising WIN that no TV pundit expects , no Journalist expects , no neutral expects , no rival Manager expects , no arsenal fan in his sane head expects but from the Bottom of his heart hopes like MAD ...!!!!!!

03-Oct-2010 04:33 | | a gunner - WE NEED TO BE SUICIDE BOMBERS TODAY
the team that goes out today simply needs to give its life out – I MEAN it doesnt matter if we get tackled, injured or die on the pitch today etc – cos we have a good enough team to come back from injury anyway –
so like a group of SUICIDE BOMBERS the team has to give its life out today … if Not - no CHANCE in hell !
If i dont see Song flying in with a bone breaking tackle on drogba in the 1st 5mts of the game..I might as well switch off the tele !!!
