Young Gunner Carl Jenkinson has spoken to the official club website about his development since joining his boyhood club.

"Playing with the sort of players I train with everyday, I think it brings you on naturally. You are always going to get better. I feel like technically I've improved quite a lot and I get a lot of time now with Tony Colbert and Marcus [Svensson] who are the two fitness coaches here,  that was always a good part of my game was my stamina and my fitness but I think I've even built on that now."

"I feel fitter and stronger so I think I've improved and I know I have a lot more improving and I am working hard to do that everyday with the coaches. There is a lot more for people to see from me and there is a lot more I can get out of myself as well"

As is the case with most young players, it has taken him a bit of time to settle into the way of playing at Arsenal which is a massive jump from playing for Charlton. He has huge heart and never leaves anything behind on the pitch. Trying to push ahead of Bacary Sagna is the impossible task but as Sagna is unfortunately out for a while, Jenkinson has his chance to find his feet and keep improving.

I was watching the Chelsea game again and in the dying stages when we were 4-3 up Chelsea were putting us under pressure and launched a ball into the box, Carl Jenkinson under massive pressure won the header out of the box that resulted in van Persie smashing in the fifth.

I suspect that he will regain his place in the team tomorrow, probably along with Thomas Vermaelen. He will have the backing of his team mates and hopefully the Emirates faithful.

Anyone who is a Gooner at heart certainly has my backing.

Sure it was Per who headed out that led to the goal. But yeah, has the backing of most gooners and hopefully will make it.

Jenkinson headed it quite brilliantly if he didn't clear it it could have been 4-4

Amazed people haven't talked about it! It was brilliant defensive header

Jenkinson I like him for 19 year old I see a massive player in there

100% Jenks. Watched it a few times. Very important header at a vital moment

I think Jenkinson is an improving player and I like to see young players develop at Arsenal.

Many people attacked Wenger for his purchases but praises him later on when they see how well it turns out at the end.

He shouldn't be played against Marseille. This is a match we can easily win even with Djourou at RB. Jenkinson is the only recognised RB we have left. why risk him now?
