A week without Arsenal is like a week without sex!.... Pardon my choice of description. I actually was excited about the interlull but the reverse has been the case since I was dished a weekend of bore fest.

The international matches played this past week, be it competitive games or friendlies were nothing to write home about.

The only big plus about the past week is that I was able to watch the much improved Koscielny make his debut for his national side against USA. He was impressive and shut out Altidore who like the others(Torres, Crouch, Messi, Remy) didn't get a sniff. Hopefully he keeps his place and is selected to represent France at the Euros in the summer.

Two key matches I thought would make my weekend turned out to be a waste of my viewing pleasure... One was a competitive world cup qualifier (Argentina vs Boliva) while the other was the much hyped England vs Spain.

England beat Spain in a 'friendly match' and the media would have us believe that England are favourites to win the Euros. England came out tops in a game they defended from start to finish and would have lost easily if Spain had taken their chances.

There were lots of positives to take away from the international matches played in the past week. Like I said earlier in my write up Koscielny made his National team debut, played well and lasted all 90mins without any hitch.

Park was in inspiring form for South Korea and notched up a goal in their win. Since his arrival at Arsenal, I've seen him notch up goals every time he has gone away to play for South Korea but he has struggled to stake a claim as a first team product, largely because of the world class form RVP is in. One thing we can all agree with is Park has moved ahead of Chamakh in the pecking order.

Rosicky was another player who did well for his country. He has fallen behind Ramsey as a starter and with Jack nearing a return it becomes all the more difficult to get games but with his performance on display for Czech against Montenegro, where he set up 2 goals in their Euro play-off win then he puts himself right at the reckoning for a starting berth.

Ramsey captained his country to a 4-1 win against Norway. According to reports he was impressive and tired out as the game wore on. Do I blame him.... No! He has played loads of game for us and he needs a breather.

Wenger got talking with Holland's coach Bert van Marwijk and  persuaded him to release RVP. Holland's coach had this to say to the media;

"Arsene asked me if I could please not play Robin in both games. I had a good talk with Wenger and we decided that Robin would play only on Friday. After that we would send him back to London. I won’t use Robin against the Germans."

RVP has had  a lot of games to play in the past month for Arsenal and a week rest comes at the right time. We have got some tough fixtures coming up starting with an away trip to Norwich and getting our captain adequately rested and fresh for the games ahead is highly welcomed.

Like the media have said a lot of times this season, we are a one man team so we have to treat our main man like an egg because we don't want our season going toast when the worst happens..... Don't worry, the worst won't happen, trust me!!!

Speaking about a 'one man team', I came across an interesting stat on twitter courtesy @Orbinho, Only Man City (12) have more different goalscorers this season than Arsenal (10).

So as I come to the end of this write-up I leave you with a question to ponder upon..... Where is this one man team coming from if the stats are there to prove otherwise?

Do you know a pile of bollocks called 'the media'? That's where it comes from!

An absolute "crock of Sh*t" called the media! Its a damned sight easier for them to sit in their office's engaged in creative writing (Journalistic speak for making up Shi*) than it is to actually get out and interview footballers, manages, agents and scouts. Its amazing that they can't even be bothered to do basic journalism I mean something that could be checked from the comfort of their own desks escapes them. Stats after all are facts. I suppose its way too much to expect a football journalist to actually watch a game of football. One man band my Arse!

yes fair enough, thats how the media work, they can bring up or bring down whole governments so football is a theme park for them. my main issue is how can the public be so dumb and guillible. especially sections of arsenals fans who would rather trust the writting of some hack on an agenda rather than trust the continious stellar work of their manager.

i have come to the conclusion that football is not followed by people who know about football, but by various lot from all different backgrounds who just want to identify themselves with a winning group. and if the group doesnt win for them they feel they can demand change of strategy and change of policy and want to sack everyone and so on.

    clueless brigade .....

Football supporters have always been tribal, and naturally we all like it best when our team is winning. The problem with it being so tribal is that people identify with the mob. Its like this years riots syndrome. There's been people who have ended up in the Courts who under normal circumstances would never have taken part in riots, looting and the like who for some unknown reason followed the mobs actions.

Likewise our fans who in all honesty have never had it so good. If you'd have said to an Arsenal supporter in 95 that in the next 15 years your team will never finish outside the top 4, will win 2 doubles, another FA cup, the league unbeaten, reach the CL final, and you'll be hailed by pundits and players past and present as the team that played the most attractive attacking football the premier league has ever seen, they would've laughed in your face. We all would!

The problems we have with our suppoters (and make no mistake we have problems) came with us winning. Our problems in effect came because of Arsene Wenger, he raised expectations so high that those very same supporters that came onboard because of him, can't accept that we aren't dominating at the moment. I'm an Arsenal man 1st 2nd & 3rd. But unlike those who've arrived recently I've known a decade pass without winning anything shiny, so I've paid my dues standing on the freezing north bank praying for us to attack just once in 90mins.

Those who can afford to buy season tickets for the Emirates, those who get corporate seats aren't neccessarily out and out Gooners. They buy their tickets and expect to be entertained, they like football of the entertaining variety and when they aren't entertained the boo. Unfortunately we needed the corporate boys money because of the stadium move. If they don't re-new-their-season-tickets so be it! Hopefully they'll be replaced by actual Gooners who wouldn't dream of Booing the team they support. Having never won the Prem has anyone ever heard the "Kop" Boo the Liverpool team?

Firstly a large percentage of the bloggers on these sites aren't Gooners
2nd those that are might not know a great deal about Football. They might not have any knowledge of the workings of our club, and its history. All they see is Man U spending big and winning, so they want us to copy them. All they see is Chelsea spending big and winning so they want us to copy them. Now they see Man City spending the most and yes you know they want us to copy them too. Its tribal without a great deal of thought.

"Likewise our fans who in all.... ..... We all would! "

SPOT ON ! . and it makes it twice as strange when allegedly grown up gooners of 40+ 50+ who were present at those days of dross yell the loudest...

these demands some arsenal fans are totally unrealistic. instead of praising what they have, they compare it to a united or a chelsea who in all fairness work under completely different set ups and simply use their money. arsenal doesnt want to play that game and even if they wanted to they couldnt, they would go bust.

what angers me the most is that those people consider arsenal anything of significance before wenger;s appointment as manager. people have accused me when defending the current regime that i dont know arsenal;s previous amazing history. what history? lol ...arsenal was never a bayern munich or an ajax or a juventus or an ac milan when i was growing up watching them. 1-0 boring boring arsenal is what i had to put up with. finishing 7th and 12th, losing finals in the 94th minute with a 60meter lob and so on.

now we have football civilisation at arsenal, no drunks, no lunatics, no drug addicts, no posers, no bartons, none of them traits which bring us back to neanderthalism, a beautiful stadium and a 15 year continous tenor as a top football club, the brnad has grown commercially speaking and the football this team plays is spectacular. what is wrong with it? nothing, the kids just lacked the experience to dominate essiens lampards giggs and ferdinands which is totally expectable and understandable.

how on earth can people who call themselves arsenal fans ignore all this progress the club has accomplished and boo the one man who made it all work and still does?

those who say he has taken us as far as he could.....wtf? lol... he hasnt even started...he has been waiting for his youngsters to reach their prime years and now that he managed to get rid of a few slackers and got the money to integrate a bit of experience it can only get better.

they have a saying in england that they value effort more than the result...that doesnt seem to be the case for wenger. cant fault his efforts, attitude or commitment, and the results are more to do with the normal inexpereince of youth in sucha tough set up as the premier league.

for those who accuse him of daydreaming of winning titles with a bunch of developing 17-23 year olds obviously miss the point for he never intended to win any titles with 21y.o walcott and 22 y.o fabregas and 24 y.o djourou but just to give them experience and keep the club in financially viable positions. thats why he was buing 5 players for the price of one fiat punto. and the fact he even came so close ( twice) in winning it only demonstartes that he is a great manager. however no matter how great a manager you are you still need them characters to bail you out when the plot thickens ON THE PITCH.

people then accused him of dismantling that expereince from arsenal. well how on earth could he keep henry on 150k per week or vieira or whoever else when the priority is to repay the stadium investment?

and another thing that is being ignored by these booers....have they noticed how many points the ref deduct from arsenal with their disgraceful calls? they say that these "incidents" even themselves out over the course of the season....what a load of bollocks.... i have never seen the 3 points ferguson gained at the 98th minute of stoppage time against city given to someone else. i have never seen the correct goals they disallowed from arshavin ( sunderland) and adebayor in 07-08 (middleboro) being rectified. i have never seen the two red cards neville and vidic should have received last year (blackpool, west ham) being given, instead they stayed on the pitch for united to turn it around ..thats 6 points. i have still not seen any ref EVEN the incidents of rooney ( how many times has he dived to win a penalty for united.....cambell, almunia come to mind) in our favour. fletcher demolishes arshavin with a two footed lunge inside the penalty area nothing is given, vidic plays volleyball inside the penalty area nothng is given, rio as last defender makes a tae kwon do on sagna and apparently we should say thank you for getting the foul...song complains and sees yellow or red...rafael rooney fletcher rio point the fingers and intimidate and surround referess and not even a warning. evra instead of defending performs wrestling ( i never knew that yorue allowed to defend with your arms and hands in football) and never gets punished.

arsenal = french manager , foreign players, continental style football
manchester = brittish manager, english backbone of players, english kick and rush football
chelsea = the new honeybunny with the three english muskateers and some pseudo-cosmopolitan air

who will the refs assist...the foreigners? or their "own". which english team can be used as the vessel to take away the pain of national football.
