New boy Gabriel makes his Arsenal debut this afternoon as vice captain Per Mertesacker is rested to the bench. So the Brazilian will be partnered alongside Laurent Koscielny. It is an interesting partnership as both players are supposed to be similar in style. Many have had worries that they might not be able to function alongside each other due to the past relationship between Koscielny and Vermaelen. But I tend to believe the latter just was not as good at defending as we all hoped rather than an issue of chemistry, So today's partnership looks very interesting. They have not played together in a game so we will have to hope the gel and gel fast.

It looks like we are reverting back to the 4-2-3-1 with a rather creative looking midfield. Mesut Özil could be playing in his favourite position ahead of today's captain Santi Cazorla and Mathieu Flamini and behind a strike force of Welbeck, Giroud and Alexis Sanchez who might have been rested today but we've thrown the hungry Chilean straight back into the thick of the action.

Bellerin has been rested so Calum Chambers comes back in at right back. Our defence and keeper have all changed apart from Koscielny.

On paper we look a threat but also could be a worry when we've lost the ball. Perhaps that is why we have Welbeck and Alexis in wide areas to track back and win the ball.

We'll see.
