Going back to some of my examples above and the perception of those players. Per Mertesacker was too slow, too lumbering and not Gary Cahill enough for Arsenal football club. A few seasons later and he is right up there for the Arsenal player of the season. I need not tell you about the ridiculous stick that young Aaron Ramsey had to endure, this season he was the star man in a team that included Mesut Özil, Santi Cazorla as well as others. What was the biggest contributory factor to these players improving so much? Playing football

We have lost some very important qualities, qualities that we do not have in abundance and that is what is most difficult to take. Players like Santi Cazorla, Mesut Özil, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere for example are all technically more natural footballers than Theo but we have players in the squad that can compensate for them if injury strikes. The general response as to who should replace Theo seems to be either Serge Gnabry or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

I wanted to just say a quick Merry Christmas to readers out there and thank regular readers for continuing to come back even though I have been far from consistent in recent months. There are many reasons for that but hopefully after the near year I will be getting back on track writing regularly.

He seemed like the exact type of player we could have used at City. I didn't expect him to start that game because he started in Naples a few days earlier but switching Wilshere for Rosicky should have had a positive impact but you never can quite tell. Forget buying a striker in January we should invest the cash into a body duplication machine and give Tomas a new Ramsey body for Christmas. I guess all our players would require the Ramsey 2.0 wouldn't they such is the Welshman's insane engine. But that is not possible and I am being very childish once more.

The Bacary Sagna situation is still up in the air. After some positive comments by Arsene last week, Bac has followed them up with more cagey utterances to the French media. Bacary has plenty to give and once again this campaign he has shown his class, consistency and professionalism. For a few months now Gooners have been shouting from the roof tops to offer Bac a new contract. I am pretty sure we would have been on the case for a while now but we do not know what the players preferences are right now. Hopefully Bac will opt to extend his deal with us and continue to be one of the best defensive right back's around should he want to dip his toe into new footballing waters then perhaps we can use this as a time to evolve and buy a right back that can make the difference in the final third given that our right back is often the spare attacking outlet.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
