The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

Good morning,

Most of the news today is about our Champions League draw to Sparta and todays match with Ajax. I like most Arsenal fans are trying to second guess which team Wenger will put out there tonight.

This will probably be as close to the starting eleven as we are going to get. I am intrigued to know who will replace Gilberto as the holding player. Flamburger is a defensive player but not necessarily a holding midfielder. Diaby is NOT a holding player or a defensive player so I am struggling to see Wenger playing him alongside Cesc in central unless we play 433 or 451 with Gilberto in the middle of them both.

I also want to know who Arsene will choose out of Hleb, Rosicky and Eboue. Or will he somehow squeeze in all three? I hope he can get all three in the side.

I am looking forward to seeing if there is an understanding between our first choice midfield and Eduardo. His runs will be refreshing for Rosicky, Hleb and Cesc.

Adebayor misses the match and looks likely to miss the start of the season. Lets hope this is not the start of things this season.

The match is on 8.15pm (GMT) I think. Need to double check if that is the program starting time of kick off. I'm sure one of you guys will inform me.

As for the Champions League qualifiers we really need to go into the game hungry and not just expect victory. Thats an obvious point isn't it? but last season against crappy sides we didn't seem to understand that point.

The Lassana Diarra rumours are not dying down. Especially when Steve Clarke says things like..

"Last January he came to me and spoke about his need to get more playing time. After that, he came in to the team and did very well. But we don't want to lose players to one of our rivals..."

Not quite sure what we need with that kind of player even though he impressed me in several matches last season including the match at the Emirates.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
