Not much going on at the moment relating to Arsenal really. I am still waiting for another first team transfer but that hasn't happened as yet. Maybe this may happen soon as the pre season matches are all finished and Arsene can turn all his attentions on recruiting instead of coaching.

I was thinking about the Ajax game and our side, its probably pretty close to the side that will face Fulham. I was going through the line up..

Lehmann (Check)
Sagna (Check)
Toure (Check)
Gallas (Check)
Clichy (Check)
Eboue (Check)
Flamini............

What? Hang on one cotton picking second. Where the hell is Diaby? who I thought is next in line. Ok, I have said this before. Cesc and Diaby won't work together as a central two. As much as I would love that but its clear that both of them like to be in the attacking part of the pitch and it may be football suicide to pair them both together.
Fair enough but isn't Denilson Gilberto's understudy? Or is he another attacking midfielder in the mould of Cesc. Yes they are very similar both have a good passing range but I was under the impression that Denny boy was a sitter. I guess not so does this mean that next in line after Gilbets are Flamini and then Song?? whoa! I can understand the whole Diarra rumour now and please let that happen.

Flamini has been a good pro for us, filling in all over the back four during our Champions League run and he has even popped up with some vital goals over the years but he is not even a holding midfielder. He is a box to box midfielder who is in our standards, behind technically.

This is a squad issue that Wenger must address before the start of the new season. Especially with Gilberto missing the early part of the season.

Wenger has hinted that Bendtner isn't yet ready to be an automatic choice so I expect a winger who can also play up top.

Did you guys see the Gerrard punch? What's the betting he gets away with it. Now imagine if that was an Arsenal player. Even worse imagine if Adebayor was just standing next to someone else? Doesn't even bear thinking about.

I missed the Charity Shield, thanks to a rather busy Tesco's but watched the highlights. Wasn't overly impressed by either side really. Nothing to frighten me for this coming season.

All we need is love consistency and we'll be ok (oh.. and a winger and a back up holding midfielder)

UPDATE: I have been told that Diaby had an ankle injury.
