The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

Good Afternoon,

Arsenal play Portsmouth in about an hours time, just gives me enough time to get myself together and grab some much needed munch.

As Myles Palmer said, today's game should be pretty good. Portsmouth like to attack and have several good ball players such as Mendez, Utaka, Kanu, Taylor etc
I expect them to defend as a team and have players behind the ball when we are in possession. And attack us when they are on the ball.

Cesc and Gilberto will need to play well for us to win. Infact I am hoping that Hleb is available for the game because I don't think this is a match for Theo. I just have that feeling.

So we have been drawn to Newcastle in the Carling Cup? That is not ideal as we will be playing some younger and untried players. After us getting to the final last year I have a slightly bad feeling about this tie. My early prediction is that we will draw at the Emirates and lose at St James' Park. God, I hate being negative. I don't know how some Arsenal fans do it so often on various forums.

This is how the Carling Cup side could line up..

Hoyte Nordtveit Senderos Traore
Denilson Diarra Diaby Walcott
Bendtner Eduardo

It could obviously be completely different but this is a mixture of youth and first team players. Just jotting that team down really emphasises the lack of width we have throughout the squad. I still can't understand why it hasn't been addressed.

BREAKING NEWS: Arsene set to sign new contract....soon!

Anyway, Lunch is calling. Hopefully another 3 points will be on the board when you hear from me next. Enjoy your afternoon.

His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
