My Vision

Written by Mean Lean on Monday, 31 October 2011 15:01

It looks a little gloomy outside this afternoon, I haven't been able to achieve much today because I feel so drained and so tired from too many late nights and early starts. Today is supposed to be a miserable day yet it is not, today is one of the best Monday's that I can remember and that is all down to the Arsenal. My emotions are not quite self sustaining I guess, I am relying far too heavily on the Arsenal to balance my books and stuff. Let me leave that one there before it gets all terribly confusing.

Apologies for the lack of service over the last few days, Arsenal Vision has moved home to a warm and cosy new hosting service called Swbroadband, they are new on the scene and offer some great deals, check them out if you are looking for a good hosting company.

If you are not reading this then erm, you should be shortly. If you can see this then *high five*

Love all the post match talk being about how bad defensively Arsenal were, it is quite hilarious really. Arsenal scoring five at Stamford Bridge and beating a title contender was just too much for some to handle so an angle has to be created just like Tomas Rosicky when looking to receive a pass.

I have my feet firmly on the ground here and I know it is just one game, one game that did show some of our weaknesses but I cannot express to you how much I would love Arsenal to go from strength to strength and keep improving, keep moving up the table and win the league from this position. I would buy some popcorn and watch Arsene shoving it down the critics collective throats.

Sorry that is just a little daydream I have from time to time but back to reality.

Many people are rightly talking about one man right now and the words one man team have been bandied about a little too freely for my liking but Robin's going through a crazy hot streak right now where goals are coming as easily as racists slipping over. Arsene Wenger spoke about Robin benefiting from an attacking team with team mates who create plenty of chances. He mentioned this more than once post Chelsea and even post Stoke where he won the game from the bench, Wenger was quick to point out that he scored the goals because of the team.

I don't know if this is to keep the rest of the squad believing in themselves and not just leaving it all down to RVP or if this is Wenger's 'keep Robin at Arsenal card' Arsene has to convince him to stay at our club and if he gets to express his football offensively, as well as having the captaincy on top of a team who churn out chance after chance for him then why move elsewhere?

As long as the team keep improving, keep growing from strength to strength then I believe that he will stay at Arsenal. Unlike Na$ri, Robin is Arsenal, he always has been. Let's just hope that when the time comes, we are a strong competitive team because if we are then I expect a further contract extension.

I am not even going to go into the whole Nazi nonsense. Just a load of rubbish created to cause problems. Ignore it and it will go away.

Tommy V and the Jenks are both fit for tomorrow's game and I expect them both to start as Wenger will want some mild rotation I reckon. I suspect that the Vermaelen and Koscielny partnership will be reunited again and those who have been reading this site will know that I am very excited about that combination. Mertesacker has done well on the whole and offers a calming influence but he does not have the mobility or aggression that the Kos and Verm have in abundance.

Arsene mentioned Theo's defensive improvement this season, I must say I haven't really noticed a big change from last season. In many ways he has always been very good defensively because you cannot run away from Theo, he closes you down so quickly that he forces you to make passes. It was his offensive game that really impressed me against Chelsea. Perhaps that had something to do with Chelsea's high line and Theo was not often doubled up as is often the case against more defensive minded sides, especially at home. His touch looked sharp, he was purposeful with his running and he could have easily come away from that game with a goal and two assists, both potential chances badly squandered.

While our front three are in the groove, I would give them another run out tomorrow night. It was the first game that all three clicked and even so Gervinho didn't have his best game in an Arsenal shirt. If our front three can develop a good understanding of each other as well as Ramsey on that kind of form then scoring goals will be a piece of John Terry.

Right, must dash. Preview tomorrow.

Enjoy this wonderfully gloomy and tiring day.

Gervinho had his best game in an Arsenal shirt against Stoke. If he has his best game every time he turns out in a month or so he will put Messy to shame.
Am I being too pedantic ?
Andrei Arshavin should start tomorrow.Have I ever mentioned I like him?

I would never have guessed that you liked him. Think he will start tomorrow though. Probably in place of Gerv

I don't think our new Spaniard is getting the credit he deserves.
(Skysports website only rated him as a 5 against Chelsea)
Whilst he's not Fabregas his ball retention is terrific and his decision making is first class.
Apart from Robin's goals I think a lot of our improvement is down to him

I have watched the match through again and I think the largest untold story of it was Arteta dropping back to help Song support the fullbacks in the beginning of the second half. I am sure that it was a correction ordered by Wenger but Arteta did it so well that it seemed to turn the tide immediately. He and Song and Ramsey ran their tails off keeping the defense supported while still linking up to the front three.

Much has been made of us not signing Mata but he seems to make little effort on the defensive side of the game, something his team could have used. I was more than happy we signed Arteta rather than Mata Saturday.

no mean lean. its not a little dream. it what should have happened had the establishment been fair to arsenal and allowed them the opprotunity to compete fairly and on an equallevel wihtout having refs cancelling crucial goals, awarding our opponents with ridiculus penalties at times where we couldnt react, allowing the neanderthals to break legs and play with elbows and high kicks against us and all these "wonderful" things some people in england call "football"......passion and commitement is one thing, but coming out with sole focus to bully arsenal cause they are young and dont have the stage/experronce to handle pressure situations is another. if anything the ref should protect the ones who come out to play football and not stab them in the back. also the media....whats worng with them?..here is a manager who does things the right way, develops youht , and has the balls to face united chelsea and barcas with a team of 23 years of age average.....agendas, interests and myths...thats why...and the worst of all...soem of the arsenal fans even dared turn against the manager and our policy to be decent hard working footballers....i guess they prefer cunts like terry ronney and cole pardew pullis shawcros taylors etc....thats their level....fuck them all arsene

    Just found this on twitter:

"Arsenal vs West Brom is now sold out, as is the Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund and away game with Norwich."

I've noticed that things are on the up and a few familiar faces have disappeared.
