The Leicester City player to Arsenal rumour has surfaced a number of times already this season, from Jamie Vardy to N'golo Kante and now Riyad Mahrez. Vardy decided to accept a new contract to stay at his current club, Kante swapped the blue of Leicester City for the blue of Chelsea and now reports suggest that Mahrez has decided to join the best club in the world.. the Arsenal. We do not know how true or not his rumour is but even if it is true, there is no suggestion that his current club and Arsenal have agreed a fee and well, that could be quite important.

Online Soccer Betting must have gone through the roof last week when we heard talk that Mahrez wanted to up sticks and leave the Champions. There were rumours that Barcelona were interested and that could well be the case but surely he would go from playing every game to being sat on the bench behind Suarez, Messi and Neymar. Moving to Arsenal under a French manager, playing the a style of football that would suit his game, playing with players of the quality of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could take his game to another level.

What is interesting is that this story comes a day after Arsene's rather bullish comments post Lens in which he said:

"We are very active. If we find the right candidates then we will spend the big money."

It is unlike Arsene to talk about spending big money, it is usually along the lines of finding the right players. If I was to guess, I would put my money on Arsene knowing exactly which players he wants and what the time frames are, as in does his current club have a replacement and when they are willing to part with said player(s)

Arsenal have a lot of wide players at the club at present so it will be interesting to see what happens to the likes of Serge Gnabry, Joel Campbell and others. It will also be interesting to see how far or low Theo Walcott ends up on Arsene's pecking order.

Gnabry is young enough to experience another loan spell and gain some valuable first team football but you would imagine that Joel Campbell could be shown the door if Arsene is able to bring in Mahrez.

One thing is for sure, Arsenal are more than likely to add new faces to this squad from now until the window closes on August 31st.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
