1) Did you think the score line was a fair reflection of the game?
@jex_75 - The scoreline was probably just about right, QPR had good chances including the Austin strike in the first 45 minutes. We were quite a bit better in the 2nd half but Rangers did battle for the full 90 and probably deserved their consolation. Loftus Road is never an easy place to go away and get a result and the mid-week element and pitch were always going to make it tricky for us; in the end a solid and very important 3 points.
@MalmoeGooner - To be honest I would've taken the score line before the match had started. On the other hand I thought we had momentum to go for a 3 and a 4 when we still were 2-1 up, even at 2-1 we had opportunities to kill the game off.
@mattbonito - NO. Rob Green was doing his magnet trick and making all our balls go directly at him. Plus Charlie Austin shouldn't have been on the pitch to score QPR's goal, he should be designing a car in a factory in Basingstoke in 1963. Nobody's called Charlie Austin these days. Nobody.
@OIroegbulem14 - yeah i think so. we were a bit shaky for the first 30 mins but i thought we were pretty comfortable in the 2nd half and had chances to score more. QPR offered very little after the break despite their goal
2) Who impressed you from the Arsenal boys tonight and why?
@jex_75 - Although my Man of the Match was Ozil, I think there should be praise for Coquelin who showed a warrior mentality in playing through injury and truly transformed the look of our side and in doing so our season... Bellerin who we sometimes forget is still a teenager was class going forward and looks to have come back into form from what were a few so so performances previously... and lastly Mertesacker who was dropped at the weekend and did very well especially in the first half at cutting out crosses and keeping us level until we found our attacking way (with Gabriel possibly out injured as well this is good for his confidence going into the United match).
@MalmoeGooner - OOOOOSPINA had a solid performance. And again I thought Özil had a great performance. I'm fed up with people criticizing him for not getting stuck in and fight harder. That's just not the player he is. The last few games is exactly what I expect from him.
@mattbonito - They were all winners. But in a very real sense, Rosicky was the winner because he's got such lovely hair. I wish I was in his band.
@OIroegbulem14 - I think Bellerin impressed me the most, better touch than normal and constantly getting in behind the QPR defence, its nice to have a full back with so much pace! Gibbs was better than usual, his overlapping was very effective and i think Coquelin was very good, strong in the tackle and getting better on the ball with each passing game.
3) Who wasn't at their best today?
@jex_75 - I thought as a side we were solid, not great by any stretch, but what you expect away at a tough ground in a mid-week fixture. If there was anyone under par tonight I felt Gibbs was again was to cavalier in going forward, much like the Monaco match, and forgets that although he does posses the ability to get into the attack he is still a left back and must be more assured of his defensive duties. He did of course have a hand in our opener but I don't think he did anything else to unseat Monreal as our first choice LB.
@MalmoeGooner - I am Rosicky's biggest fan, literally love the man, but he was a bit sloppy today, although overall I thought he contributed to the flow of the team. I guess I'm his biggest critic as well..
@mattbonito - Welbeck. He waltzes on with a minute to go and expects us to believe he's better than Lee Chapman? Mug. Nicking a living.
@OIroegbulem14 - I think our worst performer on the night was probably rosicky, not great in the first half at all, gave away the ball quite a bit. improved a little in the 2nd half when more space opened up but ultimately didn't do much. better when coming on as an impact sub in my opinion.
4) Alexis broke his scoring drought tonight but what did you make of his performance?
@jex_75 - The goal was special and the performance was solid, he looked more lively tonight and his runs in behind the opposition's defense looked sharp. I strongly feel that this will springboard him into the United match in the same sort of form he showed to start the season. The goals and assists have been missing for a run of games but as always with the Chilean the work rate is top notch.
@MalmoeGooner- I love the fact that he can have a poor game and still score a class goal.
@mattbonito - You know at the end of every episode of Quantum Leap, where Sam would leap into a new body and immediately find himself in some incredibly awkward situation? That's what happened to Alexis when he had that one-on-one with Green a few minutes before he scored. He's Sam Beckett Now. He's talking to Al in the changing room as we speak, trying to find out why he hasn't leaped yet.
@OIroegbulem14 - Alexis was fairly anonymous in the first half i thought, got on the ball a few times but didnt threaten too much. like most of the team he got better in the 2nd half, could have scored another on top of his goal. i think he played much better in the 2nd half because he didn't drop deep to get the ball, he stayed wide and played as an outlet, to good effect.
5) Frustrating that everyone around us also won. Are you confident of finishing top 4?
@jex_75 - I'm more confident this season of finishing top 4 than I have been in the past few and think the single biggest contributing factor to this will be our squad depth. When you think tonight that Walcott and Ox didn't play, Welbeck was on for a minute at the end and Szczesny, Debuchy, Flamini, Arteta, Wilshere, Gnabry, Akpom, Monreal weren't in the 18 man squad I think it provides AW enough options regardless of how the FA Cup and Champions League matches go this month.
@MalmoeGooner - Very confident. Although a bit frustrated that the rest of the team also took all 3 points today. Still feel it's ours to lose though. I was looking up the table when the score line was 2-0
@mattbonito - Do you remember that season when we sold Fabregas and Nasri, and we lost 8-2 at Old Trafford? And all our fullbacks got injured for about 200 years, and we lost about a million games? We finished top 4 then. Reckon we'll do it this time.
@OIroegbulem14 - I'm very confident of top 4, i have no doubts that we will get a champions league spot. Ultimately i think we will finish 3rd, maybe 2nd with a lot of luck!
6) What would your team be for Old Trafford on Monday?
@jex_75 - Szczesny (I think AW has made it clear he is the GK for this competition), Bellerin, Mertesacker (if Gabriel is injured), Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Santi, Alexis, Ozil, Theo, Wellbeck... leaving Giroud, Ramsey, Ox, Rosicky, Chambers, Gibbs, Ospina on the bench.
@MalmoeGooner - Ospina - Bellerin Gabriel (if fit) Koscielny Monreal (if fit) - Coquelin Cazorla Ramsey - Özil Giroud Sanchez
@mattbonito - Ideally: Seaman, Lauren, Keown, Campbell, Cole, Ljungberg, Parlour, Vieira, Edu, Wiltord, Kanu (Dixon 89). But that's a bad idea, because the last time we did that, I had a fag to celebrate and I haven't really stopped smoking since. I dunno, probably bring Ramsey in for Rosicky? Might be best talk to the manager about that one if I'm honest.
@OIroegbulem14 - I think that a couple players might need a rest against Utd so my team would be Szczesny, [Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs] [Coquelin, Ramsey] [Walcott Ozil Oxlade Chamberlain] [Welbeck] then bring Giroud Alexis and Cazorla off the bench if necessary
7) How do you see that game going?
@jex_75 - It goes without saying this match is important for many reasons beyond the simple fact it's a cup quarterfinal. The manager could really use a win over United and in the same sense so could the supporters. It appears that United are a step behind us in performance this season still they are only one point behind in the table and although this isn't a league match I think it gives the winner a psychological advantage for the rest of the season in the race for a top 4 position. I think the match will be close and I expect goals from both sides with Alexis and Ozil being the difference in our favour... if he starts I'd expect a goal from Welbeck as well.
@Malmoegooner - These are the games that I want us to be in. But i'm frightened to be honest. The home game this season was a real question mark of our ability to beat that United team which I honestly thought we would easily do. But it's Old Trafford now but i'm slightly optimistic
@mattbonito - United put an advert in a copy of Saga at the weekend: 'Your chance to play at Old Trafford', it read. They'll select the winners before the match - 11 men, all 84 years young - and they'll get to face Arsenal in the FA Cup. They'll still beat us, because that's how life works.
@OIroegbulem14 - I think if we can avoid conceding in the first 20 minutes that they will get at least a draw but my fear is that if we concede early that we'll collapse and could end up in a monaco/Utd at home type of situation
8) Any other thoughts?
@jex_75 - Not this time, have to run.
@MalmoeGooner - What's up with Walcott? I reckon he's off in the summer :(
@mattbonito - Haha...that time Keown only needed one more appearance for his league winners' medal, and we had one sub left in the last game of the season and Wenger sent Parlour out to warm up. Lol. What a joker.
@OIroegbulem14 - I'm very Glad to see Ramsey back as i think we miss him really badly in midfield. i think we have struggled to impose ourselves on most teams since his injury and i think his return will see us playing better football. Also I'd like to see Walcott starting a couple more games but i don't see that happening as long as he doesn't sign a new contract
