A quick word on Hector Bellerin, he has been getting pelters from the fans for a little while now, without doubt some of his defensive work needs improving as is the case for our entire defensive system across the entire pitch. But Hector is being used in a different way than he or the team is used to and we are seeing a benefit of this offensively

19-year old Mattéo Guendouzi eh? Wow. Dude was playing in the 2nd division of French football last season and now he's been shoved into the starting line up against the best team in the Premier League. You can only imagine that Unai believes that Torreira is not match fit yet which is a shame given his strengths would have been quite helpful against a team who are so good around your penalty area

Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are not in the squad tonight as they have not been in training long enough unfortunately but you can see how those two can slot into this team. That said, this is a great opportunity for youngster Mattéo Guendouzi to push himself into contention to start the season. He has been really impressive considering the fact he has come from Ligue 2. A good showing this evening with others in the same position lacking in match sharpness, you never know he could start the season but he will have to do well against a Chelsea side who, like us, are in the process of trying to reinvent themselves under a new manager

Emile Smith-Rowe has just bent one into the top corner from the edge of the box. Ooh some lovely feet to get him into that position. This is not going to be good for folk (me!) who tend to overhype young players. 1-1. It was such a measured finish, no panicking, no thrashing at the ball, just pure composure. What's also nice about Emile is that going back the other way and contributing defensively seems like second nature to him. I like the kid, what can I say

So it's quite a young team out there today, a real chance for the likes of Emile Rowe-Smith to force his way into the managers thoughts for the upcoming season. Possibly the most interesting decision will be to see how Emery uses both Lacazette and Aubameyang in the same side. Will one play on the flank? probably. If so whom will it be? my money is Aubameyang. Wenger got a bit of stick for that so we'll see how that goes. Who knows, we may see them playing together as a two. Unlikely perhaps but we shall see

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
