The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

So it was a slow start for Arsenal against Bolton at home.

As we expected they closed us down at every opportunity. Cesc who I thought was going to be rested wasn't allowed the space that he got in the second half at Shite Hart Lane. So wasn't able to dictate the play as we are used to.

Tomas Rosicky tried the through ball to Adebayor a few times in opening half an hour but couldn't quite get control of his passes.

On 40 minutes Henry intercepted an Anthony Gardner back pass and he tried a cheeky back heal which was cleared off the line.

That seemed to spur Arsenal on and our attacks began to have a bit more tempo about it. Bolton defended well until the half time break, 0-0.

Apart from the backheal we didn't see very much at all of our captain Thierry Henry. I was hoping that we would see an improved version of him in the second half.

4 minutes into the second half Bolton go ahead.

Anelka found that large head Kevin Davies on the right side of the box and he crossed for Kevin Nolan to hook the ball past Almunia.

It could have been 2 shortly after but Almunia made a great last ditch save.

We continued to attack Bolton without really creating many clear cut chances.

The beast came on for Hoyte on 70 minutes with Flamini going to right back.

We were throwing alot of crosses into the box but we were outnumbered by the Bolton team.

I thought we were staring at our first defeat at the Emirates, but on 78 minutes Cesc won a freekick and he swung the ball into the box and it found its way to Kolo Toure at the back post to head down into the floor and over the diving Jaaskelainen, 1-1.

Another freekick on 81 found the Baps man, but his header was misdirected wide.

I thought we tried to make too many long range through passes which were cut out far too often.

We had alot of the ball but could not quite breach the Bolton back line.

So 1-1 it finished Bolton did what they always do, make it hard for us but at least we didn't lose. We will have to go and beat them at the reebok now.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
