The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

For the first time in a long while its very difficult to see where the goals are going to come from. We used to be the side that teams could not contain because the goals were spread around so many players.

Pires, Ljungberg, Bergkamp, Henry would all easily get into double figures for the season. The Arsenal team who played in the FA CUP against Blackburn on Wednesday night could have played all night without scoring. Yes we could have had at least one penalty and Graham Poll will watch that back and admit to himself that he made a bad call.

Usually I would say Thierry Henry in that side would have lead Arsenal to victory but on current form Henry isn't producing anything that the rest are not. At half time at Ewood Park the game had 1-0 written all over it. We dominate the match miss chances and should have put the game well out of sight after the first half hour alone.

Benni McCarthy came off the bench and showed Arsenal what they are missing round about now, A striker that wants to score goals. Although he may not be good enough technically for the Arsenal team but he has the right mentality for his position. He has scored 15 times so far this season, all against different teams. Not quite sure what Wenger was thinking of when he played Senderos at right back, especially when you have William Gallas in the same team who is much more suited to full back with plenty of experience in that position. Unless William had a word with Arsene and told him that he is not happy to play at full back. Thats all if's and maybes.

Hleb was dreadful, he gave the ball away a scarily amount during the game. I was hoping that he would show the best of his ability as he was put into his favorite central spot, but it really wasn't to be.
Young Brazilian Denilson looked out of sorts for once, he didn't seem to have the time on the ball and gave it away a few times but that is understandable for someone young and who has just come into the first team. Arsenal's goals in the first half of the season came from Van Persie, Henry and Gilberto. They have all stopped scoring for different reasons and without those goals Arsenal will continue to draw and lose games they should win hands down.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
