The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

Liverpool started the game very strong and at a very high tempo. And it wasn't long before they turned the early pressure was converted into a goal, infact it was only 3 minutes into the game when Arsenal old boy Pennant combined very well with Arbeloa who sent a low cross to Crouch who beat Toure to the near post to guide the ball past Jens Lehmann.

1-0 to Liverpool, Not the best of starts.

Arsenal slowly started to get back into the match and Baptista had our best chance of the game but surprise surprise his touch let him down.

On 26 minutes Peter Crouch had a shot wide from an angle.

Arsenal played pretty well after the first 5 minutes but could not quite find enough quality in the final third. Having Clichy and Eboue back in the side added width and more attacking options.

On 31 a wonderful Arsenal move ended with Baptista missing the target after an Adebayor square pass. Our best chance of the game. This is where we miss the likes of Henry and Van Persie who are competent finishers unlike the rest of our squad.

So it could have quite easily been 1-1 but as it is in football 2 minutes later the ball is in our net for 2-0 to Liverpool thanks to a Peter Crouch leap and header past Lehmann.

We have had far worse halves than this one but we were on the wrong end of a losing score line. Pretty much the story of our season so far.

The second half started much as the first did. Liverpool started the quicker, faster and hungrier. I wanted to see Rosicky replace Denilson and play Diaby alongside Cesc and play with more purpose.

Steven Gerrard had a left foot shot saved by Lehmann when maybe he could have done better and then 30 seconds later Adebayor hit the post with a snap shot from outside the box.

On the hour mark it was 3-0. A freekick by Aurelio was flicked in by Agger

Adebayor hit the woodwork once again after a powering header which was superbly tipped onto the post by Reina. It just didn't look like it would go in for us today.

Ljungberg replaced Baptista who once again played like a phat stinking pooh and Rosicky replaced Diaby probably because of his midweek match for France.

on 74 William Gallas turned in a Jamie Carragher flick towards his own goal from a corner for 3-1. Another Arsenal goal would make things rather interesting.

But on 81 minutes the game was well and truly over when Peter Crouch pulled down a throw and after some neat footwork he smashed a left foot shot past Jens for 4-1.

A bloody Peter Crouch hatrick!! apart from our strikers this was practically our strongest side. I do believe in our players and I do think they will be a very good side but this was not good enough. We played good football in spells but there just wasn't enough steel, enough organisation, enough commitment.

Eboue was replaced by Hoyte which seems to be some sort of injury. We are going to have to improve our form if we are to stay in 3rd.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
